Chance Me Please!

Hi! I’m a sophomore at a magnet high school in NJ and I’m looking to be chanced for colleges. I really appreciate your time!

SAT I (breakdown): 1450
ACT (breakdown): did not take → do you recommend that I take it?
SAT II: Biology: 730, Math: 790, Chem I plan to take in junior year
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.75 freshman year and 3.75 sophomore year.

Major Awards (USAMO, Intel, etc.): I won 2nd place in prepared speaking in HOSA Regionals. I will be going to HOSA States in March and will hopefully move on to HOSA nationals. I also do a lot of biology research and have submitted to JSHS and will hopefully compete at ISEF this year or next. I also submitted to MIT Think and am waiting to hear back.

Subjective:

Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): I run a middle school science fair with over 100 participants each year that is affiliated with the Broadcom Masters National Middle School Science Fair (board leader). I am in my school’s HOSA Club. My school also has a club called Provita, which is a mock biotech company. We present our research and products to the FDA each year and at various biotech companies. (This year I am a project manager and I hope to be company CEO next year). I have also been attending my Sunday School for grades 2 - 10 and am very involved. I go there multiple times a week, have taken part in plays and dances at my Sunday School, have won speaking and writing competitions in my Sunday School, and go to summer camp there every year. I also love public speaking so I give motivational speeches at schools and events (I have spoken to crowds of over 5,000 people and have spoken at a couple of elementary and middle schools and community events).
Job/Work Experience: none
Volunteer/Community service: I volunteer in the Valley Hospital Laboratory every week. I also volunteer at my Sunday School multiple hours a week but none of it is documented.
Summer Activities: In the summer of 9th grade I attended my school’s summer research program and just worked on my biology research project. I also went to my Sunday school’s summer camp. This summer, I have a research internship with a really well-reputed professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine ( I got the internship by mass emailing about 200 professors with my research project and credentials).

Reflection

Strengths: Extracurriculars, Recommendations, Essays
Weaknesses: GPA/SAT (hopefully I can raise it to a 3.8 and 1500 by senior year)

I would really like to go to a 7-year med school, maybe at Brown (PMLE), Northwestern (HPME), Rice/Baylor, USPM, UMiami, REMS, BU. What are my chances? I’m also interested in Pre Med at Stanford, Northwestern, Cornell, UPenn, Johns Hopkins, Berkeley, Boston University, and Harvard.

I really appreciate your time and help. Thank you so so much!
