My main concerns are that my GPA and test scores are low for the schools I’m applying to… I feel like I have a good story (neglectful parents and foster care) and good ECs and awards, but I’m afraid my low scores will hold me back.
I agree that your stats will hold you back. All of these schools seem like a pretty big reach. With most being test optional this year, I’d consider not submitting your SAT scores. I encourage you to find some good match schools where you’ll be happy. Best of luck to you!
Yes, thank you! I’m also applying to some match and safety schools like Occidental, UPacific, my state school’s honor college, etc. I’ll update you on December 1st (match day)!
@luckbealady2nite I am so blown away by how much you have accomplished with such a difficult upbringing and being without loving parents. My heart aches for your situation but I can tell you are creating your own future, which is amazing. There are many schools that would love to have you - please make sure you are looking closely at fit, culture, people and all that stuff so that you can create a home for yourself in college that fits you well and where you can be you. Best of luck!!!
Thank you so much! It really means a lot :,).
