No, it won't kill your chances, but colleges don't like students who don't have any social life or interests outside of academics. Then again, if you do well on the 9 APs you're taking this year, you might be ok. Your grades seem fine for Hopkins.

Your grades are fine, and if you do pull a 2200+ on the SATs, they are fine too. However, a comparable applicant with, say, 4 years of concert band or some sport is preferable.

Ashraf, while recreational programming is something you could certainly put down in your application, it wouldn't hurt for you to do some community service, or find a sport, or some sort of artistic, humanist passion. Hopkins is trying to focus less on science + engineering these days, and wants a more well-rounded student body. Your grades and the courses you take--i.e. your academic passions--should reflect upon your skill in engineering, but it wouldn't hurt to look less nerdy [for lack of a better term].

Thanks

Seriously? No offense, but you will definitely get rejected from JHU with such a low SAT score. You should definitely retake. What were your individual section scores? [Math, Verbal, Writing]

A friend of mines got into Georgetown with like a 1750... Although, in his defense, he did have a 4.0 UW GPA. wf, if a 1700 is all you got, you should try doing some crazy Extracurricular that takes huge leadership, crazy planner. Maybe start a fundraising organizations that generates lots of money.

as for OP, having no EC is extremely bad. You might as well drop an AP class and spend some time volunteering at different events. Like I said, extremely bad.

i have over 650 hours at a hospital, prez of interact 2 years, treasurer of best buddies 2 years.. more ec's?
how bout if i get an 1800 sat score and amaxing recomen.?

To honestly have a good chance, you should at least score at the 25th percentile: 1990. Most score below this are recruited athletes or incredibly stellar applicants.

Wf, you honestly need to score at least mid 1900s to 2050s to even have a shot at Hopkins. Your hospital volunteering history is a definite plus however.
