Chance Me? :)

I’ve always thought it was a little pointless to get “chanced” since no one really can know except the college. Still, just for the heck of it since BU is my first choice… And I’m nervous :-O

I have a good ACT score of 27, the writing score of 10 if they look at that, 1760 out of 2400 on the SATs, so my scores are fine but not amazing. My weighted GPA is 3.87, unweighted 3.47.

I’ve taken 3 APs in total and done well in them all (As and Bs). Regular math & science, AP english and honors history/social studies.

My essay is very well-written, artistic and personal (I had my english teacher look at it). I’m not in any school clubs but I participate in music, writing, babysitting, photography and film-making outside of school. I have a ton of interests outside of my intended major, film, which I tried to convey in my application.

How do you think they might view me?

COM is pretty competitive. I couldn't really say one way or the other on this one cause I'm not that familiar with COM other than that it is pretty competitive

I applied to COM for film as well and USC and NYU and BC and Emerson. So now I get to wait along with you...yuck.

What about the university in general?

When I visited BU, they told us that rigor is very important, which doesn't seem to be a super strong point for you (with only 3 AP's) and the film program is for very dedicated people who have been interested in and practicing film for a very long time. If it is just a hobby, like babysitting, then you may not have what they're looking for. The SAT and ACT scores are probably in the lower quarter of what they're seeing, but of course there is always a chance that they will see potential in you. And, plus, colleges' decisions can never be accurately predicted. =]
