Chance me!

I finally got my SAT scores, so this is official:

-Female
-Californian
-High School is a recognized feeder school for USC
-gpa: 3.42
-SAT: 2190 superscore: 2220
-High leadership in two clubs

You seem like you have a pretty good chance since your SAT score is fairly high, though the GPA is a bit low. Is it weighted or unweighted? Leadership qualities are appealing for most top schools, so that should help you. Make sure you emphasize any passion you may have for those clubs. Based on these stats, you stand a good chance but there’re always other factors involved that we (chancers) can’t see, such as essays, transcript, recommendations, etc. Keep that in mind, write the best essays you’ve ever written, and I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks for the quick response. I am very worried about my gpa, but I hope that my extra curriculars, essay, and letters of rec make up for it. USC is my number one school!

Do you guys think that my gpa will significantly ruin my chances?

gpa might be a tough obstacle to overcome. everything looks attractive.

chance for engineering school?
chance for regular admit? nyone care to offer an opinion on my chances?

Hey beatrojan!

I think that being a valedictorian significantly increases your chances for regular admission to USC. You should probably make it in. Unfortunately, I’m not sure you can make it into Viterbi if you send in those SAT Subject test scores.I also like your extra curriculars.
Other than that, I think you have a good chance! Better than mine anyways.
