Chance Me!

Do I have a chance at getting into Harvard?

GPA: 4.05
SAT Scores: 2350 (low i know)
SAT II: Bio-800, US-790 (i don't know what happened...), Lit-800, Physics-800, Chemistry 720 (bad I know...)
ACT: 34, probably won't even send this

raised money since i was in 7th grade to build an African village in Rwanda -- I spent one year alone in Rwanda building the African village with my own two hands.

Not only is this village up and running but i also developed an irrigation system during my AP physics class during sophomore year. The village is environmentally friendly and everything is "green" since I am also the founder and head of the environmental club!

I love animals and I have raised a group of alpaca in my backyard -- I have then used the wool to create sweaters for the homeless in my community

Head of Model UN, President of Student Council, Leader of Physics for America, Editor of the Newspaper...

I am also double legacy... but since I was adopted from Africa years ago- does this legacy count?

Thank you!

HARVARD 2014 :)

No chance. Sorry. If only you had found the cure to cancer before I did…

I’ll take the previous post as a joke and would like to add that 2350 is in no way low. Plenty of people get into Harvard with lower scores.

But compared to all the thousands of other applicants with stats just like yours or better, I don’t think you should consider yourself a shoe-in.

Point taken. Hardly anyone is a shoe-in (shoo-in? not sure) for Harvard; I just don’t like it when people complain about their 2300+ scores when the 25th percentile for Harvard is 2100, and the median appears to be around 2240.

you’re annoying

i applaud you.
that is all.

oh and you’re going to be the reason i don’t get into my first choice school. fyi, i hate you, fictional conception of the perfect applicant.

You are blatantly “■■■■■■■■” and I am surprised no one else has yet to realize this, but a minority/double legacy will probably have a 99% chance as long as his or her quantitative statistics are above an 1800/3.6.

davidyko, et al – agreed it IS annoying when people with a LOOOONG list of perfect/nearly perfect scores plus incredible academic and EC accomplishments/awards post frantic/panicked CAN I GET IN TO HARVARD ??? threads.

it’s ridiculous. which was the point of the OP’s satirical (not trollish) post.

Trolllllllllllllllll

I laughed out loud when you said that you took the wool from the alpacas.

Hmm… well, have you thought about donating a kidney yet? now that, would have guaranteed you a spot…

Hope to see you Fall 2010!!!

I hope that you are kidding when you call a 2350 “low”.

Is your 4.05 GPA unweighted or weighted?

Your obviously *****ting. ON the Yale forum, you claimed to have a perfect 2400 and were an winning opera singer. You lie. * you

:) ■■■■■

Yup ■■■■■ - took til the 8th response for anyone to note that. :)

I only made it half way through the post before it was clear.

So where are you really going? You claim to have gotten into Newhouse but now your stats are all diff on the Yale and Harvard pages…are you mocking some of the most intelligent people in our country? Your future employers?! LOSER

mitchell, he’s/she’s mocking the fact that many chance threads on these top-tier college boards have people with astronomically high test scores and incredible extracurriculars asking if they’ll get in, either as an underhanded way to brag and show off, or just because they genuinely are crazy and think that a 2350 SAT isn’t good enough.

Just looking at the statistics released by almost every college show what test scores generally suffice for a good chance at admission. And as with all top-tier schools, we know that admission can ultimately come down to sheer luck, as there are thousands of well-qualified applicants with astounding applications, but not enough spots for all of them, so the whole idea of a “chance” thread is kind of useless.

It’s satire, meant to mock the chance threads, not meant to mock Harvard or its students.
