sorry kid but you really have no shot at any of those maybe ucsb but the rest are pretty much a reach.
and cal tech? get real real quick you have zero chance getting in there.
just my two cents though i could be wrong (but im probably not, i rarely am)

ur stats are decent, it’s just nothing about you seems to stand out, which makes the entire application rather medicore. essay may be the only potential aspect that could make a difference.

I always encourage people to give it a try though, just make sure you have reasonable expectations.

My school doesn’t offer much of a variety of courses. Other than the courses I’ve taken, how am I supposed to stand out? Clubs?

I’m not sure if this matters, although I have read that colleges look at students in light of the opportunities they are given, but 2040 on the SAT’s is the 3rd highest in my school. (highest was 2090) I’m not sure what kind of environment you learned in, but my stats are definitely above “decent” where I come from.

Is studying computer programming since freshman year something that makes me stand out? I mentioned that on my app. And my personal statement is about how I got into programming.

I’m not sure why people are being somewhat pessimistic about the OP’s chances here.
CR and M SAT score is 1470, SAT II scores are very good, great uw GPA, better than top 3% in his class, 5 APs which include the important ones for Viterbi, first generation and Hispanic, so English may be a second language (I really don’t think the 570 in W is going to be an issue), and a 4 year demonstrated interest in a particular field (which it seems he wants to pursue in the future).
And it’s true that colleges look at the opportunities that are taken within the context of the HS and USC certainly looks at the application as a whole.

Good luck Andrew, …I do think you have a very decent chance.
