positive things are that i'm really into languages and cultures and that i have limited access to ec's because of constant moves and uncertainty about my status. (no, i'm not illegal.) so all i can do in the states is to delve into studying and studying and studying and so on. i'll probably move to canada and graduate there. i'll insist that my experience in central america and north america as an asian is a unique hook (yea i'm desperate)
i have many ppl who'd write neat letters of recommendation (school principals, counselors, peers, teachers, church ministers, etc.)

i'll probably apply to

JHU (lol!)
Georgetown (lol!)

NYU

USC
North Carolina@Chapel Hill

well. chance me !

Cultural interest and skills are impressive... though not quite a hook. We need more to go on (real scores, more GPA's). Your EC's are lackluster, but you know that already. Your summer mission trip experience is impressive (though I find I hard to believe you translated for 1000 people at once (as I originally interpreted this), maybe that was over the course of the four months...). I've translated for a group of 30 Americans in Honduras, and that wasn't easy...

You are selling yourself a little short with your (lol!s) there, but I can't be sure without scores and more grades.
