Congratulations on her accomplishments and so sorry to have to be dealing with ALS - such a terrible disease. I would say she should get into UT, Rice I think is a reach.

Terrible a lot your mom. You helping her is the most important thing you may ever do so college is a breeze. A&M is great. Congrats.

Isn’t UT auto accept at your rank ?

Rice a reach but you never know. What you’ve done is amazing.

Good luck to you. You’re doing a fantastic job.

UT Austin is automatic admit for top 6% rank in Texas. Since the OP has top 7.5% rank, that makes UT Austin a reach, since most admission places are taken up by automatic admits.

Other Texas public universities are automatic admit for top 10% rank in Texas, and may have additional tiers of automatic admission.

Got it. I thought it was 6% major. I get all the #s confused. Thx for clarification.

She would definitely get into my university if I had one. I’m sure she will do well no matter what happens, good luck!

Both are difficult admits but sometimes compelling stories/essays can push the odds in your favor. Good luck!!!

Thanks all. About what I figured. She is hoping to get into UT to stay close to her mother, but it may not be possible I guess.
