ya.. that about it.

personally i think he has a great chance but wondering ur thoughts and if he can expect any money

i agree that he’s pretty much where he needs to be to have a solid chance at getting accepted (no guarantees in applications, but i wouldn’t stress it too much.)

bringing up the ACT score (or taking the SAT?) would help some though.

As far as scholarship money, it’s anybody’s guess. Scholarships at WashU are tough to come by, as there are only a few that aren’t somehow tied up with your family’s “estimated need.” Apply for the Danforth and anything else that applies to his major (maybe the Compton Scholarship?) and hope for the best, i guess, but I don’t think anybody can really give you chances for getting scholarships. best of luck.

I dont know that much about Northwestern, but with those stats the Danforth is way out of reach. I would give him a 30% chance at acceptance at Washu. Much better if he can increase his ACT.

GPA is great, but ACT is only passable.
ECs won’t impress very much, except maybe the hospital work, depending on the details.
What were his scores on AP exams from prior years?

From our personal experience w/ Wash U, DD55 is on target. S has similar stats as your bro (solid, but not eye popping for these top schools) and was nominated for Danforth by his nationally awarded high school teacher. S was deferred in ED. Thus, I concluded S had absolutely no shot at Danforth and probably has a modest chance at acceptance in RD.

I also agree w/ WCASP assessment. Bottom line, WashU is one tough place to get in. However, there is conventional wisdom (CW) here on CC that applying for scholarships reflect interest and the CW on CC is demonstrated interest for Wash U is particularly helpful.
