Suggestions other schools that he can get $ .

Thanks !

also forgot wind ensemble band and medical club after school.

everything he has done all 4 years

When he is looking at Colgate, why not look at Hamilton College? It is a bit smaller, but does give excellent aid and has fraternities. The education there is excellent.

Also, Ithaca College (1 hour south of Syracuse) has a well regarded business department and highly regarded music program. While it does not have fraternities, it is near Cornell and they do have a greek system - my son has quite a few friends there.

Ithaca gave my son a chunk of merit and the financial aid office mostly met our EFC in an additional aid package. It is costing us less to send him there than to our state school.

The following is just our opinion: this year they made it “test optional” and we believe that those that send in high SAT scores are more attractive than those who do not send in scores, so more aid is directed to those students. (This raises the school’s stats.) My son had higher SAT scores than the norm, while his GPA was about average for the school. He received a nice package. He did get into Tulane, his first choice, however aid was quite lacking and we could not afford to send him there.

thanks for reply . we looked at Ithaca College when we visited Binghamton last February. Although we did not have the " official " tour (an older camp friend of his who attends, who loves it and was very enthusiastic, took us on a tour) my son did not like it for some reason that he could not put his finger on . It was perfect size and seemed like they gave good aid for his stats. He is really hoping Tulane comes thru - sometimes they do others they dont . He will apply for all their separate scholarships as well and is working on them now but more choices the consider for sure needed. thanks.

bump please. thanks for replies
