Last Fall, I was enrolled in a graduate program in Political Science and due to a series of unfortunate events, a heavy work schedule and an increasing lack of motivation, I stopped attending classes and failed my courses. I ended up being dismissed from the school and now I have been working the same menial job for the past few months. After looking back that the experience, I realized that I really needed a break between undergraduate and graduate school but I notice myself really missing academia.

I have a few questions:

How do I even attempt to go back to school with a dismissal on my transcript from my last school?

How difficult will it be to get accepted into a graduate school related to my field?

Would it help to audit some classes or enroll as a non-degree seeking student and take some classes in Poli Sci?
