Hi! Bentley is at the top of my schools, but right now my family probably would not be able to afford it without some merit. (There is no chance at fa by the way) I was just wondering about anyone who has received one of the merit scholarships at Bentley and what their stats were? And the Women’s leadership scholarship? I’ve heard people talk about it, but I can’t find any info on it anywhere.

My stats are:
GPA: 3.6 UW (With upward trend, 4.0 so far for junior year)
ACT: 31
SAT: Have not gotten scores back yet

My school has no class ranks

ECs:
Model UN for 2 years
FBLA for 3 years
Debate for 2 years
Choir for 3 years
Swim Team for 3 years
Varsity Rowing for 1
NHS for 1 year

AP Tests: US History, Spanish, Stats, Language and Comp, Literature and Comp, Economics, and Business.

Will have a job as a summer counselor this year, as well as an internship for a programming company.

If it helps at all, I am a girl and about 80% of the people from my school that have applied to Bentley were accepted. Thank you so much!

You’ll want to look at the recent threads for “Bentley Early Action 2013”. There are a number of applicants that posted their stats and gave their award numbers. My D had the same UW 3.6 GPA with plenty of AP’s and early college classes with some great EC’s as you and as some of the other young women. We did not receive a merit award and yet others did. The flip side is we did get a very nice grant (would cover 1/2 the tuition) and we were not expecting that.

If you visit Bentley they do go over the Women’s Leadership program and there is some additional info on their site. They are making an effort to attract more women. As for the scholarship - I thought my D would have a chance, her EC’s include being Class President, NHS, 2 sport varsity athlete and team captain as well as a Girl Scout Silver medalist. She did not get it. The young woman that did receive the scholarship and posted her EC’s on the Early Action thread definitely earned the award.

My daughter has decided on another school, but with Bentley’s rankings, facilities, and the financial aid they offered us, I almost wish she had picked Bentley. Good Luck to you.

Thank you so much! Your response really helped! Best of luck to your daughter in college

your stats look pretty good and it looks like a good match.

I had a 3.5 UW GPA most of my high school (4.17-.33 weighted gpa’s for most of my years) and I received the trustee scholarship(applied EA). I think you’ll be fine for next year. just keep those grades up. Good luck to your sir.

awesome thank you!
