chance or doomed?

Im going to make this very short sweet and sort of vague...
Latin Jew
GPA overall-3.85
SAT-1150 (yes i know...)
Sports= Swim team vasrsity member throughout highschool
Community center basetball team throughout highschool
Member of buisness club, pre-law club
Community service=350hrs
Interning at a internet firm this summer

Ending my junior year in a month, i know im not the best candidate with a lot of achievements under my belt, but im just wondering, and if theres anything i can do within the next few months before i apply?

retake SAT and you have an ok chance. damn chances threads already? its early! we seniors just got admitted

is that GPA weighted or unweighted?

how many APs have you taken?

Looks decent. Even with that SAT. Apply early decision.

Things to do: write your essays, and work on revising all summer. Bring it to you english teacher and have him/her look it over.
Next year start finding teachers for recommendations.

His Community Service is strong...but GPA is weak. His SATs were near mine when I applied....so who knows. No more ED though. My stats were....4.4 W GPA and 1180 SAT, with week ECs. You might have a chance.

if that GPA is weighted then you may be in some trouble

There is NO early decision this year. There is only ONE round of admissions decisions and the application is due Nov. 1 (decisions out by Feb 28th ...I think). Chances are not good for Dave17 but one never knows...UF can be very quirky with their holistic approach to admissions and he does have 350+ service hours. My own second child is applying to UF with far less credentials but...hey, it is only $30, she can dream.

true, it never jurts to just apply and hope for the best
