THANKS GUYS!

You're in at UW automatically with those credentials.

UCSD seems right on track

Cornell seems okay, so does NYU

The test scores are what kills ya :/

thx urmomgoes2colege (nice name btw lol) Is my SAT 1 score reasonably competitive? I know my II's are very bad, but I am unsure as to what is good and what is bad.

Your SAT I's arn't bad. Very good actually, especially for your match/safety's. You may have a bit trouble with your reaches, but that doesn't matter, as everyone has trouble with their reaches. I have the same problem as you. Math is my worst, writings my best and between the two is CR. And let me just tell you that those are NOT bad SAT II's. But just FYI I think some of the schools you listed require three, so if you really arn't happy with them and really think you could do better sign up for all of them to take on one saturday (you can take up to three in one day) and do your best.

The IB program/Kobe Japan thing combined with your nationality makes you very unique and will stand out. But it would be nice if you had extracurriculars to stand out. Have you done any extracurriculars or are there no opportunities to do them?

are you applying as an international?

thx guys! yes im applying as an international, but im not applying for financial aid. i have quite a few extracurriculars but just not sports-focused (all my sports are JV). They are all service related things such as KISS, NHS, internship 40 hrs at hospital, work at a homeless shelter. in terms of music, ive been to three APAC band festivals (well three after going this year), im lead drummer in jazz and concert band, and ive played piano for a long time. teh toehr service thigns are pretty minor but still contribute to my ec's and i have lots of tutoring jobs that i keep up during the school year (approx. 6-7 during the year). I was also selected for a speech contest last year out of 55 people, and i am SBC vice president of a high school of over 200 students. not very impressive, but these are basically my EC's.

bump please..

any other insights? i need all the advice i can get as aps are around the corner. others plz chance!

anyone? how important are SAT II's? are they looked at more closely thna the I's?
Since I am aiming to become a doctor, my undergrad major will be biology. I have gotten A's every quarter in my Bio class since 9th grade, but my test score was 710. Is that going to really hurt me?
