my essay is about my how my life has allowed how my dad's death (in 2004) has allowed me to relate to other orphans. due to that, my 9th and 10th grade summer was spent in bangladesh (o ya, im from bangladesh) and as a cultural tradition we basically toured the capital (Dhaka) and went to the orphanages and provided food for the orphans and just spent the day at several orphanages learning about their struggles.

I dont really know where to put this, but before my dad's death we moved a lot (visited over 5 countries) which is why i understand the need for cultural diversity. (should i put it)

chances to: cornell, stony brook, boston college, wesleyan.

also, does anyone know how to convert my 100-scale gpa into a 4.0 gpa scale in cornell. i've checked the site, but i couldnt find much.

You’ll get better responses in the chances forum. But I think your best bet is to get your SAT up. Outside of that, your GC will probably give you better chances, since you go to a specialized school that may have better/different luck in the college admissions process than the average school.

o ok, but is it still grading in the same way as a person from a regular public school is graded?

^Bump

Chances anyone?

What do you mean? Your grading system isn’t different than a public school’s…?

its not different, but the course load is so much more than public schools

there are transfer to my high school in 10th grade that say that their public school gave them “free 95’s” for no reason and they usually complain about the difficulty of Brooklyn Tech.
