GPA seems oddly low in relation to your grades.

My opinion: write a personal statement/answers that actually mean something and you’ll be fine.

But be sure to listen to the criticism that comes after this post.

My GPA seems low because at my school, during freshman year all classes (even honors) are counted only as 4 points. Thus I had like a 3.7 for freshman year and that brings my cumulative GPA down :[

But my sophomore/junior weighted GPA is currently a 4.25, if that helps.

Most of those are reaches…You should definitely pick a real safety. Your state flagship is probably a good school to add to your list.

would my state flagship be cal poly san luis obispo?

You have a very good shot at UCSD, USC, UCLA, Cal and BU. The other schools, as others have noted, are reaches. Everything boils down to your essays at this point, given your strong ACT/SAT scores and decent GPA.

Brown '12
