What are my chances of getting in? Any input will be appreciated =)

GPA is going to hurt you a lot. Do you happen to have info on your class rank?

GPA is gonna kill you man, its the most important thing

depends on how prestigious his school is. i had a 3.4-5 unweighted and still got in

Thanks guys! Yeah, I know my GPA is terrible but a couple of kids in my school with averages in the 80’s got in. Heck, a kid with an 82.2% average got into Dartmouth from my school. As for class rank, I am in the top 25%. Any more inputs will be appreciated =)

Then class rank is going to kill you too. Ask Colleges00701 about that.

^^^ Exactly what I was about to say, I had a 1500/1600(reading and math) and a 2200/2400 (total), and a 3.8 unweighted with a 4.1 weighted, BUT my class rank was top 15 percent…and I was waitlisted…Emory SAYS “they don’t look” at class rank but if you are top 10 percent it REALLY helps (especially if your ranked higher than top 5 percent)…I eventually got in off the waiting list…(my gpa on a 100 point scale was a 95)…My highschool was one of the top 10 in Texas…

Try bringing your C.R. up and try getting the writing score to a 700(Emory doesn’t look at writing, but it wouldn’t hurt if it was a 700), and work on that gpa…do you go to one of the “specialized” high schools in NY(ie Bronx Science, Styvesant, Brooklyn Tech)…Emory is very competitive for kids coming from the Northeast (because so many of them apply)…biggest weakness is gpa/class rank, and thats IF you can get your SAT scores up…Your going to need to write VERY good essays and show a lot of interest…

Yes, I go to Stuyvesant. Thank you for replying! I will def. retake those SAT’s and try to improve my grades. I have been looking into Emory a lot and plan to visit over the summer.

My friend used to go there, he graduated this year…
