Chance super competitive Ivy League Applicant! Will chance back!

@immasenior I’m gonna write about a League of Legends high elo tournament I played in which my team made it all the way to the finals to get crushed 3-0 by LMQ (If you play you should be familiar with this team, it’s a bunch of talented chinese dudes who came to North America to stomp competition and get into LCS). I’m going to say how it’s helped me accept loss/defeat and how it’s prepped me realize that there’s no top in getting better, as well as how it shaped me into a better person who is humble in victory and graceful in defeat.

I’m really confused though, he had thousands of applicants apply to the internship and only 10 got in… like isn’t that pretty good?

^Oh yes that’s of course very good, but Ivies regularly reject kids who even make it to the top levels of Intel Science Fair, Siemens, etc., and these kids compete with the entire nation. It’s certainly a plus, but we never know how much of a plus it is when dealing with Ivy/Top Tier schools.

Get a rec from Tyson to solidify that hook if you can and try to improve your GPA. Sure you’ve taken a lot of AP classes, but I know a kid who self-studied pretty much every AP subject including AP art and got all fives, had amazing ECs, a 4.0 and 2400 and ended up getting slaughtered by the Ivies. But with your stats and income (i wish my parents were that rich lol), I’d say there’s about a 85% chance of you getting in to the Ivies. Just remember to write a good essay! & I don’t need a chance since I’m already bound to my dream school  good luck!

Ivies are reaches for just about everybody but you good chances. I think you’ll get into Stanford.

Chance me back.

^Out of curiosity, you think he has a better chance at Stanford than the Ivies?

@rhapsodicone I’ve taken the most rigorous classes at my school. So getting 1 B in 6 classes while maintaining A’s in everything else seems okay. My essay idea was listed in the comments above. I think it’s pretty original ^_^

Bump yoyoyoyoyoyoyo

If you do an interview bring up that experience with Tyson right off the bat; that is really memorable.

@bluberaptor. Stanford will be highest reach. It’s individuals like @emshadez who have NO CLUE about college admissions that keep driving up the application numbers to Stanford. Stanford really appreciates the business…

@gravitas2 this year’s acceptance rate was so abysmal to look at… I have an interview this Thursday with the Dean of Admissions… so scared. This is my one shot Q_Q

You got all of them besides the Ivies and Stanford. The UW GPA and ECs are pretty rough. Yes, I know who Neil Tyson is. But unfortunately you’ll need more than just one EC (For a mere 2 weeks).

That income bracket tho…I can’t even…what…
are your parents like neurosurgeons or something? haha i hope u don’t mind me asking; im just curious

Caltech would also be a reach.

Thanks @outwest88‌ My parents do stock, consultation, law firm. An eclectic method of making mad money.

Damn Neil Tyson, impressive. That is a very nice hook, and it will be even better with a rec letter from him! But other than that, your EC’s are lacking.

“I don’t get how Berkeley would be a low reach? I’m 300 points over their SAT average, considerably above their GPA average, and also strong on AP Exam Scores.”
^ Don’t rely on SAT scores to determine your qualifications as an applicant.
I was rejected from schools with median SAT scores ~400 points below mine, and I was accepted to schools where I stood near the middle. Your academic achievements don’t make you “super competitive.” They just suggest that you’ve met the benchmark. There are hundreds of kids every year who are rejected from the ivy league with perfect scores and amazing academic achievements. There are hundreds of kids every year who are accepted with stats far below the range of the average applicant.

Anything above a 2200+ wouldn’t significantly increase your chances at any college. Why you retook a 2330, I will never understand but I guess whatever floats your boat…

ok your a genious and PLEASE send in your 720 as a 13 yr old because they will like how high your score is at that age
