I am copy editor of my school newspaper and have done very well in DECA, placing at state for 2 years in a row and I've created an ad campaign used by Seattle Public Utilities.

My essays are also very strong. I know it's a long shot.

Thanks.

Oregon will take your weighted GPA if it is on your transcript. Is it? And if so, what is it? And have you applied yet? The earlier the better.

I just applied a few days ago, yeah. It’s not, my school doesn’t weight. what do you think my chances are as is?

Your GPA is low, but you sure have a lot of other stuff going for you. I recommend you call the admissions representative for your area and talk to him or her about your situation. Sounds like your GPA would be considerably higher if your school weighted your AP classes. You’ve had a lot to deal with and have done well in many things, so don’t give up. A call to Oregon could not hurt.

Your SAT scores and extracurriculars are far better than the average applicant; I would be surprised if you were rejected. The only thing that is substandard is your GPA, but I don’t think that it is low enough to get you rejected.

Nevertheless, as Tulare said, giving your admissions representative a call would do nothing but help. Good luck!

bump bump bump!!!
