<p>I know there's a bloody lot of these floating around, so if you don't feel like reading this, no need to. I'd just like your candid opinion on whether I have a chance or not. Thanks!</p>

Age: 16</p>

<p>GPA: 4.00 Unweighted
Class Rank: 1/501</p>

<p>Classes: Completing IB Program and have two AP classes. Basically Junior and Senior year are full of IB/AP classes.</p>

<p>Current grades are all A's.</p>

<p>AP Scores:
AP Calculus AB: 5
AP Computer Science AB: 5</p>

<p>IB Scores (only SL tests given at Junior)
IB Math Studies: 7
IB Spanish SL: 6</p>

<p>Will be taking IB English, IB Physics, IB Biology, IB History, and AP Chem in May 2008 (Load of work -_-)</p>

Banner Health Hospital Work (2 years, Laboratory Work)
FBLA (Historian, Chairman of Several Committees, Awards from Nationals)
Piano (I test in a statewide program, on the last [Senior] level. Several medals from competitions.)
Spanish Honor Society (President, 2 years)
Science Club (Vice-President, Captain of both bowl/competition teams, Chairman of Blood Drive hosted by United Blood Services)</p>

<p>(Nothing too special here either -_-)</p>

<p>Work Experience:
Worked as a translator/counselor at a Taiwan-hosted summer camp.</p>

<p>Basically, do I have a chance? My recommendations, barring death/writer's block, should be fine (probably not super super outstanding, except my counselor one.) My essays are decent, probably not super admissions officer swooning material. I tried to be a little humorous, I think I did well on the supplemental questions.</p>

<p>As it stands, you have a pretty good shot. I see no visible weaknesses.</p>

<p>Your academic stats are fabulous, the envy of any Stanford applicant. But your EC's are on the weak side. Nothing really stands out. Nevertheless, you have a decent chance just because of your grades/scores.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, I'm Chinese. I'm a senior. Yes, I would have absolutely loved doing some internship work at the university biodesign institute, but I needed to be 16 and I only turned 16 during the summer. Curses. </p>

<p>I took some college classes (4, two in Physics, 1 in Chem, 1 in FL, all A's.)</p>

<p>Local Community College. Yes, you'd think being Asian would be an advantage..</p>

<p>haha, I have very similar stats to you, so I think you have a good shot, not excellent (almost nobody has an excellent shot at stanford, myself included). Good Luck and hopefully i'll see you next year.</p>

<p>I think you'll get in. In case you don't -- being Chinese wil give you an advantage at top LACs if you are interested in those.</p>
