Chance UC's, CSU's

I'd really like to get into UCI or UCD.

UC GPA: 3.6
H.S. UW: 3.58, W: 4.05

SAT 1: 2160

Decent EC's, a lot of volunteer work, no real work experience

In-state

Great high school (one of the best in California)

My (almost) final list:
UCLA
UCSD
UCD
UCI
UCSB
UCR
CSULB
SDSU
CSUF

Thanks!

UCLA - High reach
UCSD - High reach
UCD - low reach
UCI - low reach
UCSB - low reach
UCR - match
CSULB - safety
SDSU - safety
CSUF - safety

I have pretty much the same exact stats. I’d like to know the chances as well!

Anyone else?

Also, I’d think that UCR would be more of a safety…but not exactly sure.

Anyone else?

Could anyone else reply?

I’d really love to get into UCI and UCD, but I can only wish that my GPA was higher.

UCLA- Reach
UCSD- Low Reach/ High Match
UCD- Match/High Match
UCI - Match
UCSB- In
UCR - Safety
CSULB - no idea
SDSU - no idea
CSUF- no idea

Very nice SAT score, the first poster was way too harsh. The SAT should make up for your lowish weighted GPA everywhere but UCLA. Write good personal statements and you should be good everywhere but UCLA and maybe UCSD, both of which are somewhat reachy.

Thanks @Prodigyy11!

I started this thread so I could get second opinions on the chances I’ve set for myself on these schools. I was a little shocked when oceanpartier called only one of them a match. However, your “chances” match mine quite well except that I think UCSD is a much higher reach for me, about on par with UCLA.

Thanks again!

No problem, I’m in a similar boat as you UC GPA: 3.75 UW, 4.15W Act: 31. UCSD has a much higher acceptance rate than that of UCLA, although it is getting increasingly harder to get in each passing year. I do have really strong EC’s though but yours seem fine too. Good luck to you!

Sigh…this crazy process, LOL.

Good Luck and Best Wishes!
