Subjective:

* Essays: Great. English Teacher had no edits, called them all "gorgeous". A BUNCH of publications, books read for fun, etc (ran out of space; everything from Borges to Plato to Kerouac to the Tao of Pooh) for the short responses.
* ECs: Primarily Music and Debate. Team captain for Debate, won at local tournaments, looking forward to a nationally competitive senior year. Marching Band section leader, Jazz soloist with awards, founded professional jazz combo, all four years for both. Total about 400 hours of community service. I also have every honor society the school offers (except thespians.... grrrr) and JSA (best Speaker) and FBLA (Placed at nationals), as well as poetry and essay contest championships. Also, i'm the varsity track and field captain, but we're not that good, and am a columnist for the paper but we rarely publish anymore.
* Teacher Recs: idk, hopefully good. I'm probably one of the more favorite student for each, and I had both for 3 years (journalism and english).
* Counselor Rec: she absolutely dotes over her NMSF kids, so very helpful
* Hook (if any): nope!

I know a lot of this is pretty good or within CU's range, but I'm not trolling for compliments (scout's honor). The thing i'm most worried about is the low GPA. I basically had senioritis last year, which in retrospect, was not too smart. I got Cs in a couple of subjects after nearly flawless grades, including my favorite American History. I explained myself and my ambitious senior courseload in the additional info, saying how I learned from it and wanted to actually apply myself. Counselor rec also echoed these sentiments.

What does the infallible College Confidential Community say about my prospects? Can I get past the GPA issues and hopefully write for the B&W come next year???

you are quite well-rounded and i’d say you have a pretty good shot as far as well-rounded candidates go (as opposed to those with big stand-out selling points). good luck
