would USD accept an applicant who’s gpa and test scores were below average if they can pay full tuition without financial aid? (out of state)
That is a good question! and sorry, I don’t know the answer. I do know that in or out of state wouldn’t matter since it is a private school. I also know of some students accepted with below average stats, but I guess it comes down to how much ‘below average’ and your other qualities. Don’t panic when the acceptances start coming out in late February. I think they are announced by honors and scholarship first and then come out randomly over the next two months. Good luck to you! ps I also think a lot of people will get accepted, then realize they can’t afford it, and that will open up more spots!
What are your test scores, GPA, and EC’s?
2.95 gpa, i go to a college preparatory school so all of my classes are honors and then I have three APS. I’ve done over 50 hours in community service, I’ve played 5 different sports, and I’m really passionate about art. I’ve participated in KYA and KUNA (government and politics clubs) , and I’m in the national art honors society. I’m not sure if they thoroughly read the essays, but mine is very good. oh and 1690 SAT (im from kentucky)
@jbourne do you remember specifically what their stats were? Thanks!!
@college1555 - no sorry, I don’t know their specific stats - I just know they didn’t get their acceptance until really late and didn’t think they would get in.
