Your statistics are somewhat similar to mine, and I think you've got a pretty good chance. It's not as easy to say if it's not ED, but I feel like you have the means to get in. Also, does your school rank?

My school doesn't rank; I only have 83 people in my class! However, I've taken the hardest courses available, and if I were to guess I'd say the top 15% at least, possibly top 10?

I'm just caucasian, nothing exciting...haha
Are you a student?

And thanks by the way! Its so hard for me to accurately guess which places I might actually have a shot at...

No, I'm not a student, but I know a thing or two about admissions. I have some friends who go there and I went for discovery weekend as well.

It's a good thing your GPA is as good as it is for RD, I don't see why you would be rejected as long as your essays are good, same with recs. The thing about WashU is they don't want a machine or even "well rounded student" we hear so much about. They want unique people who will contribute to the campus.

They'll also like "hardest courses available"

Your stats are good- however, the thing WashU REALLY cares about is its yield; they want to see demonstrated interest, which equals visiting/interviewing/going to meeting with the local rep/whatever you can do to show that you would go there if you were admitted.

I disagree that somehow Wash U cares more about its yield than most things...

I interviewed in my city, but I never visited or met with any reps, or really did anything more than I did for every other school I applied to. Sure, schools care about their yield, but the idea that Wash U cares much more than others doesn't seem right to me. Like someone said above, they want unique people. Your stats are good, and based on your ECs, you seem to have diverse interests. Write some great essays, and I think you have a pretty good shot.

I waived the right to see the recs of course, but my counselor said they were "flawless," so that's always good to hear!
My essay is actually about unicorns (weird, I know...its hard to describe), so hopefully that's unique enough! Haha!

I've met with the rep, but have yet to visit the campus. However, I hope to make the trip soon! Thanks again for all your help!

Well from what I've heard, if you waive the right there is more of an emphasis placed on your recs, since they are probably more honest. I was confident the teachers I chose would say good things, so...
