One of my recommendations will be from my Adv Alg Trig/ Pre Calc teacher (which, I expect, will be a great one!)

I'm really connected to the city that I live in, and I think I want to incorporate that into my essays. I want to write about how diverse my high school is and how Chicago is... all that good stuff. I'm just wondering what my chances are. If you've gotten this far, I really want to thank you for reading this!

Your chances should be decent if you can get the test score up. I would recommend taking the SAT just because some students do better on that than the ACT and vice versa. Who knows why, just different kinds of tests I guess. I never took ACT so I don’t know so much about it. If you don’t do well on SAT, you don’t have to send the scores to any school. But getting a better score on one or the other will help your chances for sure.

I’d say you have a good chance too. Try to get your ACT up to a 31 or 32.

thank you chemist & awkward!

I will take the advice! :)

test score is really hurting you.
a 33-34 would really help.

everything else looks decent.

as for SAT or ACT, do practice tests and its personal preference.

Agreed with jliu. But, your EC’s are good and so is GPA and course difficulty. Just get to like 33 on ACT and you’ll be a great candidate.

Chance back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/696912-chance-lower-ivies-others.html

really emphasize the part about connecting with your community in your essay–that is practically WashU’s mantra. other than that, just raise your test scores and I think you’re in :)

Your AP Euro teacher is a GOD!
