I'm currently a junior and wish to apply to RPI early decision for CS next year. I go to a prestigious private school.</p>

<p>Well, you can look at average SAT scores, etc. as well as the rest of us, so I won’t comment on that.</p>

<p>But, according to the grapevine, since RPI has only about 28% females, that would be a factor in your favor.</p>

<p>Good that you have the upward trend in grades.</p>

<p>The MyChances web site has some neat scattergrams (gpa vs scores) for acceptance/denial for a non-scientific cross-section of applicants who input their own info. It’s actually a bit of a pain to set up, but since you are a junior it may be worth it. A lot of times though it mainly shows that the tougher the school the harder it is to predict acceptance. </p>

<p>You have some really interesting activities. Be sure to start thinking on essays way early… .during the spring if your english teacher does that (some make it a school assignment). And definitely during your free time in the summer.</p>

<p>I got in last year with slightly lower scores than you have and not nearly as many extracurriculars.</p>
