Alright, so I have pretty good stuff all around except for my GPA (and I just found out that my school does weight it). Does my GPA show that my work ethic is too poor and I'm not ready for college?

Um... I guess that's it. I thank you for your time ahead of time.

That’s a really low GPA for an Ivy–especially if it is weighted–unless it puts you in the top 10% of your class. Okay, if you go to a school like TJ, schools may cut you some slack, but still…

Given the results of other kids I’ve known, I’d start looking for some realistic safeties and matches. Unless you will be a recruited athlete. Everything else looks fine, but super-selective schools do put a big emphasis on grades.

Oh, thanks! This isn’t weighted, though. I’m still trying to find out exactly how much the honor’s grades go up by and the AP credits as well. But I’m taking all honors and AP courses so I’m sure it should go up substantially. Do you know if it would be helpful to get into a school if I’m recruited for Division III? or would Division I be the only thing that might change things? I’ve recently been talking to some division III tennis recruits because with D1 the focus is way less academic than I want but if division one can help me get into a better school then I’ll strongly consider it.

DIII schools definitely recruit athletes, and with your scores, good courseload, and ECs I would think that being recruited could really make the difference for you at elite LACs that would look askance at a transcript filled with Bs.

You should look into the athletic recruiting forum on CC. That’s where the people who know the facts will be.

Alright, I will. Thank you so much.
