Chance!

So, I was wondering like what else should I do to improve the chances Dartmouth other than my really bad SAT scores which i expect to improve

Race: Chinese
Gender: Male
Country: Singapore, but studying overseas
School Type: Private International, Scholarship admission only (not that posh, just to give everyone a chance thats all, but it does sound good i think)
Legacy: None

IB Grades:
Economics: 7
Chemistry:6
Maths: 6 (expect a projected 7 in senior year)
Biology: 7 (expect a 7 in senior year)
English: 6 (possible a 6/7 in senior year)
Italian: lets leave that out :)

Rank: None (school doesnt do that), although i would say i would be near the top/ upper average considering the courses i take in relation to the points that i have achieved

SAT 1's: 1960
M-780
W-600
R-580

I got over 2200 on all my trial test, but i did it over the course of a few hours so i guess all i need to do is to work on the timing

Extra-Curriculars:
Swimming, participated in national competitions in Singapore
NGO, member of NGO, am designing their website, and reviving several old projects that never happened
Scouts (national and International representation at grades 8,9,10)
Internship at the government ministry where i helped out with alot of big events
Patrol Leader in School Scouts, and Committee Member that organised meetings and events

Volunteerism:
over 200 hours of community service at grades 9,10
consistent volunteering for grade 11 (it should amount to alot!)

Summer:
Internship at Government, Turned down a internship at a REALLY big Bank because it coincided with the Government internship, teaching a student in maths, various conferences on world economics and foreign policies during internship

I think u stand a good chance with ur 2k2+ “projected” SAT grades and 700+ and… and a 760+ for Maths II if you are heading to Stern.
Dont mention u turn down a big bank internship for the govt one. I dont think adcoms care
other than that, u should be fine
happy national day :D

more recommendations on how to polish things up? i guess the biggest weakness is from the SAT scores…

Recommendations/Testimonial: Got a testimonial from the a Government ministry, not much about whether I am good or not, but states that I worked/aided in projects that involved the president and other high level foreign level diplomats… [I think this is golden because it is from the government, but I am not sure]

bump?

It’s a reach for anybody so don’t feel down if someone comes in saying you have no chance. I think you’re doing pretty well and should be a competitive application. I wish you luck on your future endeavors.

As for polishing things up, getting a higher SAT score wouldn’t hurt.
