Chancellor's scholarship chances?

There are schools who give an automatic full ride (everything included) if you are a NMF. It seems U of Alabama is enticing lots of kids (believe they have built an entire new dorm just to house their honor students). Of course, it depends upon what you are looking for and whether cost is a major consideration. DS loves Pitt and he had plenty of schools to choose from

Not sure on SUNY and NMF. He missed semi by 2 pts.

Also from NY. I can’t remember what SUNY schools she applied to or what was offered but surely it did not compare to PITT. She received OOS full tuition that others are mentioning. She was fairly frugal in her meal plans and lived in apt style housing for soph and jr years. We paid closer to $8000 a year. I do remember our daughter who was offered a spot in Geneseo’s freshmen honors program which was about 10-20 students and was offered about $2000. Not so enticing. This was 5 years ago.

FYI If you go into engineering with those stats you’ll prob receive an additional 4k/year scholarship to lower the room and board down to 6k a year. I’m staying in Towers and selected a lower meal plan and right now I’m paying 2750/semester to the school plus books on my own

And if you get outside scholarships, it will stack and bring it down some more :)

Anyway you look at it – full tuition is a great deal – that is why the numbers of applicants with fabulous stats have increased in the past few years! And it sounds soooo easy to get one that students are applying even if Pitt is not at the top of their list.
