Using the word “demanded” places you in a really awkward position because this means you are looking forward to a number of rejections.
No one can tell you what each school’s FA department will present to you. Each school makes its own funding decisions based on their funding. They give you what they think you need and not a penny more.
You can’t demand anything. First you have to hope that they will admit you; then you have to hope that they will be willing to fund you. Next, you have to hope for a large portion of your needs.
They don’t have to accept you.
Oh and if you are in college already, you are a transfer student
The number of qualified international financial aid applicants far exceeds the number of available spots.
For example, in 2007 an admission official from Colby College said that their school typically receives about 900 applications from international student with significant financial need and can only afford to fund 8-10 of them. That would mean an admission rate between 1-2% for international financial aid applicants, in contrast to an overall admission rate of around 30% (at the time).
Can you afford to apply to more colleges / would you be interested in attending any other ones? Many international financial aid applicants choose to apply to 10-20 schools.
Many colleges seem to defer all early international financial aid applicants to the regular admission round. Feel free to apply early to indicate a strong interest, but don’t expect to be done in the early round.
You misunderstood. Some colleges choose to meet 100% of demonstrated need as determined by the college. E.g. if the university thinks that your family can contribute $12,000 per year, that will be the basis for the financial aid calculation, even if you say that you can only pay $4,000 per year. Applicants do not have the luxury to “demand” anything.
