Hi! I just started junior year and want some advice on how I’m doing and/or how I could do better.
GPA: 4.0UW, 4.28 W
SAT/ACT: Haven’t taken them yet, but I’ve been practicing and I’m around high 1400s. I’m confident that I can bring it up to the 1500s by next year though.
Major: STEM, probably mechanical engineering or computer science
Rank: top (10%)
Full IB Diploma (n/a)
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: White
Location: California
School: All-girls Catholic school, class size ~300
APs: AP World (5)
-school only allows 3 honors/AP courses per year and we don’t have a lot of AP courses so the majority of my courses are honors classes
Current Classes: Theology, US History, AP Chem, Honors Pre-Calc, APCS50, Italian 3, English 11
EC:
-2 years of coxing for my club, plan to continue until senior year. I’ve been the coxswain for the top boat since I was a sophomore, which was a pretty big deal. I’ve traveled for some big regattas as well. I also cox for the masters teams at my club and have won some medals with them at various regattas
-Member of the CSF, very active with tutoring during Finials week and the rest of the year
-Founder of Girls Who Code Club (Just started this year, so we haven’t done much yet, but I’m expecting it to do very well)
-Ambassador to my school and a member of the Ambassador Leadership Board
-Member of Speech Team, I’ve won a couple of awards regionally.
I’m also pursing recruiting as a coxswain onto college teams, so crew will be a very big part of my application. My top schools are Duke, Cornell, UCLA, Stanford, and Cal. Any advice?
