I would also like to know if students in the Asian Studies program have anything to say about it (the way it's taught), and if anyone has any information about the Study Abroad to Japan I would be more than thankful for comments. Thanks in advance!

I forgot class rank (24/496) and I'm an out-of-state student (Texas).

Excellent! Looks like you're certainly in the ballpark. You're interested in one of our really fascinating, unique programs. I'll try to get some more specifics on the program, but we have a huge Asian Cultural Center on campus, and I do have one student I know who's spending a year in Japan right now, actually... I'll try to get in touch with her and and ask her to post her thoughts.

Have you had the chance to visit campus?

Chris

how do you get an average of 101 but you're 24th in your class?

Chris: I have not visited the campus as I live in Texas, and flying or driving would be really expensive for my family. I have looked online at the campus through the photo tour and through pictures of the campus posted on the internet. I appreciate you gathering information about the Asian Studies Program, thanks for replying.

phishfan0969: My school is very competitive, and the valedictorian has a 105.7 and the saluditorian has a 105.3. The person ranked number 16 has a 101.7 (.7 away from me and 8 spots)

Eh weighing in school pfft lol. You will probably get in so don't worry. Colleges like that you did Ea also, hope that you will be able to visit and will find Stony Brook as enjoyable as I do. If you need more info you can contact me personally. I'm a Comp Sci major as well.
