I love love love Wesleyan. I visited it and fell in love with the "College of Letters" idea. And everything else. So what I want to know is:
a.) chances
b.) how do I show them I love them with the common app if I do not apply ED?

Here are my stats and fun facts:
I go to a public school in Michigan.
I've taken the SATs twice:
First time: CR 770 M 570 W 710 (essay 10)
2nd: CR 690 M 650 W 720 (10) (so I really hope they do the highest section thingy) so it's 2050/2060 highest subscores 2140
ACT: 30 composite, 34 english, 30 reading, 28 science, 27 math
will take SAT II's in fall!
GPA: 3.97 weighted, I have no idea what it is unweighted, but I only have one weighted class
I've taken all honors offered (just math and english), one AP (physics), and next year I will take 3 more along with a dual enrollment for french 4 and a college class that's taught at my school (madonna university, anatomy and physiology) and this really cool writing class that only a few people were selected for

Extra-curriculars:
Theatre productions: all four years, 7 in total, leading and supporting roles, student director, and stage crew, also community theatre and am going to the "shakespeare school" in Stratford (ontario) this summer for shakespearean acting
Drama Club Treasurer/Secretary
NHS
Literary Magazine
Another book review/reader's bulletin thing my friend and I founded (I guess that makes us co-presidents/editors) we really need a snappy name for that
Science National Honor Society Treasurer
Students Against Intolerance
Gay Straight Alliance
Piano lessons, 9 years, competitions for 2 years
A Cappella Choir/ voice lessons
have volunteered not so much, this year I had 30 hours I think, tutor in French and math
am getting a job this summer
I can't remember anything else
Oh. I am white and female. (not helping, I suppose?)

I can give you my "transcript" of classes I have taken if that would help, but as it is it's already ridiculously long.

bump please and another question:
does wesleyan for sure take the highest subscores of the SAT?
so 770/570/710 and 690/650/720 would magically become 770/650/720? is there a way to find this out? Thanks

Yup, highest subscores!! As do most colleges. Yay!

Your SAT scores and GPA are definitely in the range, but not in the range that would make you a definite. You have a lot of extracurriculars, but focus on the things you have leadership positions in. An essay about your work in theatre, or any other great essay, will help you a lot.

Just from what you've posted, you seem pretty cool. And judging from the Class of '09, Wesleyan does a pretty good job of picking out the "awesome" people. So I hope you do well!!

Also, if you love them, why aren't you applying ED? Because of financial aid reasons? As for showing you love them, this could work for you or against you, but in the extra info section you COULD put anything. I put something about how I want to pursue cognitive science, even though it isn't a major at Wes. You could write something about why the College of Letters is so perfect for you ^_^

Aw, shucks, man, thaaanks :)
Are you a Wesleyan-ite (do they have cool names, like Obies or Smithies...Wesies?)? How are you liking it?
And yes, I really really want to apply ED but I guess I'm not supposed to because my family's not "financially secure". We are counting on some aid.
That extra info thing's a good idea, although I'm not sure how those admissions people will react to me saying "I want to make love to your school"...
Thank youuuuuuu

I'm a soon-to-be Wesleyanite. Class of '09 :P So I haven't actually gotten to campus yet... And though we don't necessarily have anything better than Wesleyanites, we do add the "wes" prefix to absolutely everything and anything. Wespeople and wesfolk seem to be somewhat popular :P

FYI, you can pull out of an ED commitment if your aid was not sufficient. In theory no one should have to withdraw for financial reasons, but the Financial Aid Office's version of your situation and yours may differ. I've been pretty pleased with my aid though.
