impressive stats, of course top 25 schools are always a gamble…

I know kids in my school who had similar stats to yours and deferred Georgetown Early Decision…

But still, I think your chances at Georgetown and Columbia are great

Do you have any SAT Subject Tests?

i’d say your grades, act’s, and ec’s are amazing!
prbly:
yale- low reach/reach
columbia- low reach
georgetown- high match

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/683685-chance-me-plz.html

chanced back…anyone else? Recommendations for what might be a good fit?

Apply to Penn as well…quite similar to Columbia and I think you’d be a good fit in the PPE or Poli Sci major…heck maybe even Wharton. It’s good you have Yale listed (very well-suited to your background and interests), might want to add Harvard. They’re both crapshoots, but you’re certainly a good candidate.

you’re in 10 char

Good job, very impressive.

You have great stats, but there’s no “you’re definitely in” at any of these schools, I’m afraid. You should definitely have both academic and financial “safeties”, in the event that you don’t get into one of these top schools, or that the cost to go there is prohibitive. You can go to any of the individual threads for these schools and probably see lots of people who were rejected this year, with similarly impressive stats. It’s a bit disheartening, but a good reality check.

I found CC when my oldest D was starting to look at schools. It really helped me to realize that even though she was one of those kids that everyone said (you’re in, no matter where you apply), that there are a whole lot of people out there with those kinds of stats, and a very, very small number of people that these schools can accept. They can only accept a small % of people, and the decisions are not always based on all the numbers and EC’s.

Good luck…you should be really proud of your accomplishments, and I’m sure you will end up with lots of great choices, and probably lots of options for full-ride scholarships.

Your profile looks great and you seem like you have the qualifications for these 3 schools. I think you might like Columbia the most (just assuming) because of its location. As a whole, in academics there is not much of a difference, but being the center of NYC can give you a lot of opportunities to do stuff outside of campus as well, it’s so… worldly. I also recommend checking out Bentley College (very near Boston, very good reputation, business oriented), Pomona, Brown.
