Hi everyone.
I'm a junior. Indian. from New Jersey.
I know my EC's aren't that great. Any advice on how to improve them (or any other area of my resume/application) so I have a better shot at the top colleges?

Thanks a lot

a mere 2330 wont get you anywhere

yeah the kid has no chance

write kick-ass essays and apply to all the schools you’re interested in

Everything looks strong, especially the numbers. Rank 1 + 4.0 unweighted + 2330 SAT 1 + 2*800 SAT 2 is very compelling to admissions officers.

Unfortunately, your ECs are ordinary for top schools. However, with any lucky you’ll get into at least one of the most selective schools (HYPSM).

Your ECs aren’t bad, I would just do something special this summer that will show colleges that you’re more than just an incredibly smart person. Try to find a passion and do something unique/ridiculous in pursuing it. It will give you something interesting to write an essay about. But you really don’t need to worry, I would be surprised if you didn’t get into at least a few of the schools on your list. Just make sure you apply to at least 1 safety just in case :)

yeah, it seems the majority, if not all, of your ECs are school-related. do something that has an impact on the real world :D. intern for a newspaper and get some articles published, work at a hospital, make a scientific breakthrough, etc. heh. and if i were you, i’d apply to the other ivies and a few top LACs if you’re interested. gl!

ohh ok. thanks a lot. I’ll try to do something after I get back from SSP this summer
