Chances at 9 Schools

Ok, here are the schools:

Northeastern
Penn State Schreyer Honors
Bucknell
Notre Dame
Tufts
Olin College of Engineering
MIT
Harvey Mudd
Cornell

SAT I: CR 700; M 800; W 680 (2180)
SAT II: Math L2 790; Chemistry 800
GPA: 4.309 (weighted)
Rank: 1/247

AP Classes: 11th grade: US History, English Literature; 12th grade: Calculus AB, Chemistry, Psychology

Took Lit AP exam and got a 4, didn't take the History exam :.
Took most rigorous course work in my school.

ECs:
Bunch of clubs.
Varsity Outdoor Track
Leadership Program (part of which involved initiating a student-led service project which raised $2500+ for a cancer institute)
Self-taught piano
1st Place in ACS Chemistry Contest (Regional)
Placed in a bunch of math contests (ranging from school to regional)
National Merit Letter of Commendation

An interesting thing that I did was program games for a computer game (using the provided graphical user interface) and got quite popular over that network. In fact, the company that made the game publicly recognized me on their website in July (they recognized 1 person per week, out of tens of thousands who have designed games). Yea, it's a really nerdy tidbit, but whatever, I'm applying to engineering schools :P.

So anyway, chances? :)

I think you are good at all of these except Olin and MIT, where you are slight reach.

Also might not get into Cornell and Mudd for sure.

you are a lock at all but MIT. And at MIT, I'd say you have a great shot. Your test scores are excellent as are your grades. One recommendation--don't list all your clubs on your application, only put the meaningful ones that you either held a position in or have an interest for. Higher-end schools are not looking for applicants with a "laundry list" of activities...

Thanks for the chances.

One more thing- do you think that the sub-700 writing score is going to kill me? I know a lot of schools vary on how they look at the writing score, so I'm not sure how it will affect me.
