Chances at a few schools (Brown, Columbia, NYU, etc.)

Hello gentlemen! As a high school senior, I am applying to Brown through Quest Bridge. Brown is also my number 1 ranked school. As such, I would like your opinions on what my chances are since I'm basically waiting for this month to slowly chug by until I hear on Dec.1st. So, here I go:

Academics:
-I have always taken the maximum level of all courses offered, including 3 APs last year and 2 this year.
-My average has always been an A- (we are not ranked)
-So far, I have a 5 on AP US History and a 5 on English AP (Chem I did badly and withheld)
-SAT score: 2000; ACT score: 32 Composite w/ 11 writing
-SAT IIs: Literature 680, Math Lvl. 1 620, US History 660

Extracurricular:
- Student Council VP
- Church Youth Group President
- Varsity Tennis, JV Tennis Captain
- Studied abroad in Japan this summer through YFU scholarship
- Martial Arts (Kendo)
- Licensed Hunter (since I was 12)
- Church Lector

Work:
- Wendy's Cashier
- Ball collector for Brooklake Country Club

Misc:
- National Honors Society Member
- National Society of High School Scholars Member
- Large enthusiasm for all colleges, especially Brown (shown by calling admissions and asking questions, e-mails, etc. without being overboard)
- Quest Bridge Finalist

Hmm...this is what seems most notable, although I believe there is more on my application (I'm doing this from memory to make sure everything is important). So, what do you think? How are my chances?

Schools Requested for Chancing
Brown
Columbia
Yale
Princeton
NYU (Gallatin)
Emerson
Eugene Lang
Fordham
Farleigh Dickinson
(This is my whole application list)

shameless bump…

Anyone? I’ll definitely reciprocate…

I’d say your grades and classes are a shot, depending on how many AP classes your school offers. Mine only offers very few to Juniors and Seniors ONLY, so I know how that feels. I’d say for any Ivy League you really need that SAT up in at least the 2100s, and that is cutting it really. The ACT score on the other hand is pretty good with a little room for improvement. Your ECs are impressive but I can’t be sure how much input you really put into everything you did, and these colleges really want to see someone who was passionate about everything they do.

You are definitely on track for the Ivies and would be quite irresistible to lower tier yet very prestigious schools such as NYU and Fordham. GOOD JOB!

no comment. sorry-------------

So do you want to be chanced just to make you more confident for QB decision on Dec 1 (a date we’re all waiting for) or is this your backup plan?

But your stats are sort of meh. They’re not bad in any sense. The SAT’s could be a bit higher but your ACT’s are good! It’s awesome that you studied abroad in Japan!

I applied to columbia last year with about the same stats as you. 2000 SAT and 30 ACT and 3.8 GPA. I got wait listed. Now i’m at Indiana University on a full ride and I couldn’t be happier.

@spiritualwitch- Yeah, I’m just trying to see how I’ll do with QB (super anxious here)

My essay is actually ON the Japan trip. After all, studying abroad is rare for high schoolers.

Did you apply ED to Brown? Are you sending both SAT and ACT? Your ACT is significantly better than your SAT, so I’d probably go with that.
