Chances at Andover, Lawrenceville, etc.

Hey y’all!! I’ve been looking at some prep schools, and I’m wondering if y’all could give some tips as to what schools would fit me and chance me at the ones I’m applying to so far: Andover, Exeter, and Lawrenceville,

Grades:
HAHA, okay so my grades aren’t THAT good, my current grades are good (95+), but I’m worried about my ones the past few years throughout middle school. (I got an 89 in science once and in some classes they were low A’s on the border of a B) yikes…

SSAT:
not sure how I’ll do…
any tips on how to study :slight_smile: !!??

ECs:

  1. Viola-Two-Time All Region Member in most competitive region in state with almost 700 applicants (Top 7…not sure if I should put this), Four-Time Solo and Ensemble 1+ (highest) rating, “Outstanding Soloist” in whole district, Symphony Orchestra Member (which performed at an international clinic), First Chair/Associate Principal, “Outstanding Musician” in a orchestra ranked eighth in state

  2. Community Service-NJHS Member, help organize Teacher’s Appreciation Breakfast at our middle school, county teen court program, city volunteer program (helped disabled kids have fun and socialize), and part of a professional orchestra’s volunteer program (but we just hand out programs and clean up lol), volunteered about 50 hours

  3. Drawing-PTA Reflections, High Artistic Achievement at District Youth Show

  4. Swimming-last time I competed I got seventh at regions lol…but haven’t competed in a really long time, I still swim for a team but not sure if my times qualify for the school’s team (rip)

Thanks :slight_smile: !!

This depends on both what you want from a school as well as what you have to offer to each school. Here’s a thread about different criteria to consider when looking at the possibilities:

After you figure out what’s important, visit http://www.boardingschoolreview.com to try to match your criteria with specific schools, and you can also share your criteria here and some may be able to offer suggestions.

As for SSAT tips, there are lots of threads on this forum with much to say about that.

For swimming, you can compare your times at http://www.nepssa.org by looking at dual meet and championship meet results.

Good luck!

@AppleNotFar Thank you!! :slight_smile:
