Chances at any Ivy League

I'm a junior whose parents are pushing me to apply to an Ivy League school, but I have no idea what my chances would be, or if I should even bother applying...anyone want to help me out/give me any advice on whether it's worth it to apply to a super prestigious school?
The highly selective schools I would consider applying to would be Brown, Yale, and Columbia (along with possibly Stanford or Harvard if it's plausible.)

9-12 GPA: 3.95, unweighted, at a prestigious private school (my 10-12 GPA is 3.97)
No class ranks
SAT:
CR-750
M-760
W-780
Total: 2290 (not a superscore, just one sitting)
I was also told by my college counselor that I would probably be a NMS commended scholar.

I'm taking standard Humanities curriculum at my school (my school's strongest point,) along with 4 years of French, 4 years of science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Primate Biology), 4 years of math (Pre-Calculus, Geometry, Calculus, Advanced Calculus) and many arts classes. My school, along with not providing class ranking, does not offer AP or honors courses because all of the classes are considered 'advanced' (it's a prestigious private school on the West Coast.)

I have strong extracurriculars, with strong commitments to politics, environmental issues, and theatre--all of these demonstrated both in and out of school. I have hundreds (no idea how many) of hours of volunteer work from issues relating to politics and the environment, and this summer I have a paying internship at a theatre company. I'm planning on majoring in Poly Sci or IR, but I want to be active in whatever school I attend's theatre department, and will probably submit a supplementary tape.

Sorry, I don't really know what else to include. Thanks for your help!

bump?
thank you!

I think you’ll have a good chance… good enough chance that you should apply to these schools if you’re truly interested in them. All of these schools that you have listed can provide amazing amounts of resources no matter what major you want to pursue. But then again, you’ll also have to consider which schools can fit your personality and needs better, etc.

Since you’re coming from a strong high school, I would think that there has been a good number of students who have applied to these colleges in the past. Comparing your stats to these past results from your own high school will give you a much better idea of your chances, as it is hard to tell what your chances are here, since GPA are totally different at different types of high schools, and different schools have varied levels of course offerings and opportunities (for instance, if you attend a school with great academic resources, then you’ll naturally be expected to take advantage of the availability of more rigorous courses), and you’ll also have to factor in whether there seems to be a preference of a certain college to your high school, etc etc etc…

Thanks so much! Since my school is so small, data is fairly scarce, but the information that is there suggests that most of the students from my school accepted to Ivy Leagues have similar SAT scores, and generally not quite as high grades.

I think multiple bumping is allowed (someone let me know if it’s not…)

if so, then bump

bump---------

i think you have a great chance at the ivies
but you should really consider taking sat iis (at least 2)
good luck!
chance back?

Thanks! Yes, I’m taking Math II and Literature on June 5th, and I’ll probably take a 3rd one in October.

Good luck. You have worked hard.

Thanks, BocaAlban
