Its a big difference I know, and I realize that MIT is a reach for me at this time.

The main selling point of my application will be a project I've been working on for the past 9 months. It is an extremely ambitious project but it has been going really well.

I have designed, built, and most importantly programmed firmware for a fully autonomous person finding quadcopter. It is able to navigate a room and look for certain images ie. a face and report that back to my computer.

To do this I have taught myself two programming languages, Java and C++. I also bought a 3D printer and I have taught myself to design 3d models in Autocad and 3d print them. About 60% of the structural components on my quadcopter are 3d printed.

I can not stress enough that nothing was done for me. I designed everything on it and taught myself complex algorithms.

I also designed my own algorithm that uses inertial to filter sonar readings and im planning on submitting it to academia as a research paper.

I plan on submitting this to the Google Science Fair i'm pretty optimistic about it too! :)

Now for the part I'm embarrassed about:

I have a great upward trend since freshman year:

B-
B
A
A+

Cum should be A- or B+

My school offers no AP classes and your fate is decided coming out of 8th grade. This means that since I was a poor student in 8th grade my placement exam went horribly which means that I got placed in a track with no honors classes with little to no chance of moving up to the next track.

How ever this year I fought to get into our Intro to Calculus(H) class, which is not pre-calc that was the other option. I had to write a few letters to the administration to get in and now that im in my average is 99/100.

My school has a curriculum which is more difficult than NY state requirements meaning that we prove every year that our final and trimester exams are significantly more difficult than the state exam. for example my french 4 exam was 400 questions in 3 hours.

SAT I... not as good as I hoped: CR 660 MA 680 WR 640

one more thing I actively email NY legislatures regarding wolf-pac's goal to get money out of politics.

One more hobby of mine which I have spent the last 5 years of my life on is video editing and visual effects. I love use after effects to create videos with CG. I have a youtube channel which has some of what I have done but only in the past 2 years because my old youtube account got stolen and some mean person deleted all of my videos...
