Good chances or not?

Nobody? I want to know if I should apply here ed or nyu ed

What college within BU would you be applying to and for what major?

@lavawawa Admissions are so unpredictable that I do not engage in chancing students. I would say your decision to apply to NYU or BU ED should be based on 1) where you feel you would have the best experience and 2) if it meets all of your pre-requisites (academic and financial). Good luck to you!

Even though your grades display an upward trend - which colleges take notice of - your freshman and sophomore years may still end up hurting you. Your junior year (aka your most recent work) is strong, so that coupled with an ACT score on par with the 2021 admits (32), the fact that you’re from a competitive academic environment, and your stellar extracurriculars means BU is a likely match. When it comes to your decision as to where to apply ED, I would definitely echo the previous recommendation that you take into account your financial situation. Ignoring finances, I would definitely look at what your intended major is as both NYU and BU have differing strengths. I personally would lean more toward BU as it has nevertheless has strong programs across all of its schools.

I would say as an ED you would have a solid chance at getting in. Your ACT is right on par with what they want (as stated above). Also your EC are great. I’ve heard from multiple people that NYU tends to give more aid to RD kids than ED kids (something about ED kids being willing to pay more since they’re sure about where they want to go). I’m not sure how true that is but I would take it into consideration. If you decide to ED BU make sure you have a solid essay and you should have pretty fair chances.
