any comments will help greatly.
Thank you so much for ur time!!!

ure living in USA my friend. FOBs have no chance anywhere.

Get 600 v SAT or else theyll make u take the TOEFL

no im serious.

ur kidding right?

wat's an FOB?

Don't listen to bignerd43...he should be banned from these boards. He's been making false claims in all his posts.

Englightened1, I know people who got into CMU with a 3.3/4.0 GPA and 1180 SAT score. I can't guarantee you'll get accepted, but you have a chance. Best wishes and good luck!

Also, judging your SAT scores in the high 700s, you'll do fine. Best wishes!

Which college are you applying to at CMU?

i am applying to:
CIT: Carnegie Institute of Technology
MCS: Mellon College of Science
SCS: School of Computer Science
TSB: Tepper School of Business

i am also applying early. Does this help?
P.S. does anyone know about someone who got in with low verbal score?

bump........

and also what other good colleges should i look at for computer/electrical engineering?

a FOB mean fresh off the boat..

anyone else?

RPI might be good

Stop the bumping nonsense.

please i need help, any suggestions in other top engineering colleges that fit my description. any help will be fine. thank you!

hmmm..I dunno if CMU usualy take higher Math subscores than that. Your verbal is okay b/c i dont think they concentrate on verbal. Make sure your "hopefullies" come true ELSE haha you might want to consider taking SAT II Math IIc, b/c I know many overachievers will take that instead of Ic. But don't despair, you've got good chances

man im in the same boat. i got 1350 (690 M 660 V) and im an international. i got 4 APs under my belt this yr well i duno abt CMU. i gotta try and see. improve ur verbal to abt 600 and math by abt 30 or 40 and i guess ul be a perfect candidate.

CMU is like an ivy...great school. If u want a cheaper and better option, try Georgia Tech. it ranks 5 for engineering and costs 10,000 bucks less.

i agree. GA Tech is a great alternative

Thanks. what are my chances for GA Tech though?

seem good. avg. SAT is 1320 or something. It should be good. Somehow people consider Gatech as some 2nd rate school unfortunately, and dont put it on par with cornell or cmu. but it is a great place.

ranked no. 5 abv CMU, cornell, etc. for engineering. so yeah.

just study hard for the upcoming SAT and guess ul be ok. improve math up to 700s
