Chances at Colgate and Hamilton

I'm applying regular decision to several colleges, but the most competitive and the ones I would most like to go to are Colgate and Hamilton.

Please tell me what kind of shot I have, thanks a bunch.

GPA: 3.8 (I think, whatever a 97.5 is on a 4.0 scale) Unweighted (there's no weighting at my school)

Courses: All the AP (which is one) and Honors classes my school offers and Joint Enrollment in a community college (Eng 101, 102, Precalc, Calc, Psych, Soc.)

SATs: One sitting (1440) Highest math 720 Highest verbal 770

AP: 4 on the Literature one

ACTs: 32 (perfect on the reading)

Extra curriculars:

Eagle Scout
NHS President
3 time debate National Tourney qualifier
Whiz Quiz Tri-County winning team
National Latin Exam Summa Cum Laude
Varsity Golf/Soccer
(more)

Essays:
Strong (I thought, and so did my guidance counselor especially the colgate suppliment one)

Letters of Rec:
very good. Glowing, but not ad nauseum.

I'm also going to be applying for financial aid and they both are not 100% need blind.

Oh, and I have visited both campuses and had an interview at Hamilton, but not at Colgate.

I think you have a prety good chance at both...matches.

I also want to apply to Colgate university and i was wandering whether the suppliment essay should be about smth very deep and complex or it should be about something very dear to me , a special object for instance and its importance to me?
:)

more reaches batdude, i think colgate and hamilton are both matches and you will most likely get in, were is that ambition HYP? lol jp, but idk i guess if you are satisfied with colgate and hamilton with your stats, you're fine, but i think you can do better than that, =)

Haha, I looked at alot more colleges like a couple of tech schools (I want to major in chem) but out of the ones i looked at I really liked these ones the best. My friend who just got accepted EA to Harvard tried to goad me into applying to Dartmouth, but I'm happy with the ones I applied to. Thanks for the confidence booster though.

I'm not sure what the suppliment essay was looking for, but I went with something deep(ish). Basically show them what intrests/is important to you outside of extra-curriculars. For example I let them know I was a closet art-freak, which appears no where on my app. I dunno if that's the route they were looking for or not, but there's my two cents.

Might also want to look at Holy Cross -similar to Colgate but Holy Cross is only 1 hour from Boston. Also, think Holy Cross offers merit aid to classics/Latin majors.

haha, thanks, but my parents kinda want me to go to a college in this state, and i don't think i'm gunna major in latin (but it's a possibility)
