<p>I am an Asian female, among the first generation of my family to go to college, and an immigrant to the US.
I applied for the College Prep Scholarship and got telementoring with an Amherst student, an all-expenses-paid college campus visit to a QB partner school, and got waitlisted for the QB College Conference held at Stanford/Yale (I later received an invite for the conference at Stanford but was unable to attend because of the short notice and the inability to raise enough money in time)</p>

Also, I started the Job Shadowing Program with Walgreens at my high school
I have lots of volunteering hours at a local clinic where I get to shadow a doctor and a pharmacist and do hands-on medical procedures such as taking blood pressure and filling prescriptions
I also tutor students, and I volunteer as a teacher aide to a few teachers at my school.</p>
<p>Awards include being a selected member of the OMEA All-State Orchestra and other various honor orchestras, superior ratings at district & state divisions of music contests for both violin and piano, 1/6 students selected to perform with the city philharmonic orchestra, etc.</p>
<p>I also have some work experience. Every summer I work as a camp counselor at a Strings camp where I teach violin and help growing musicians. Also, I work at a restaurant to earn some money for my family and will be working during the school year also.</p>
