im currently a junior attending a prestigious(?) catholic hs (sends about a dozen kids to ivy every yr)
i was wondering if u guys can evaluate my stats and give me some suggestions or comments

btw im an international student(asian) who came to the states in my freshman yr. i lived in the states for 3 yrs when i was young so i can speak english quite fluently (not as good as a native english speaker; nonetheless, some people can't tell whether im an international student or not)

Schools that i'm intending to apply
Dartmouth(possibly ED), Columbia, NYU-Stern, Carnegie Mellon, UVA, U of Michigan-Annarbor, BC, Lehigh(legacy)

I know that my ECs aren't stellar; yet, i think my SATs are considerably better than other international students and think that i stand a good chance in all of the schools that im intending to apply

thank you for your time and i would appreciate it if u give me some suggestions and evaluate my chances

thanks in advance

I know you said you're international, and I'm not positive on int'l stats that get in. however, i guess i could tell you your chances if you lived here. maybe you can make a conversion. sorry if this doesnt help.

Dartmouth would be 40-50% or greater if you apply early.

Columbia is tougher than Dartmouth (esp w/o ED)...30%

Stern -- not positive enough to tell
CMU, UVA, UMichigan, BC -- I'd be surprised if you don't get in
Lehigh -- don't know

Being an int'l & having such high verbal/writing scores should really help you. also, check @ your colleges to see if the new sat is required before you don't take it

looks good best of luck

im not quite sure how different the stats are between international students and non-international students, but im pretty sure that international students have relatively lower score on their SATs. yet, i dont think it would give a big influence on the admissions, especially in a highly selective school like dartmouth and columbia.

one more thing!!
im currently taking ap art studio (2yr curriculum)
i'm really not sure whether being a patentee would help me or not... what do u guys think??? its kinda irrelevant with academic stuff... (its something about internet service)

I was rejected ed eventho I'm a legacy. I think you have a good chance, but you really never know. I honestly was pretty sure I was getting in. Good luck, great school

im sorry that u got rejected (which school was it? dartmouth or columbia?)
whichever it is... theyre just like harvard and princeton
i am aware of the fact that they are both tossups
do u think there would be something that can grasp the admissions committee??
something beyond a "hook"
