So I'm currently doing my first semester of college at an all womens college, but would like to try and transfer. First of all, I'm a bit young for college- I just turned 16 September. I came to this college under an early admission plan, so I got to skip senior year. This, however, means that I technically never graduated high school- which isn't a problem, however, as I have checked out the schools I would like to transfer to and they do accept special cases as such. Anyways, I went to a private high school and my cumulative grade point avarage (from freshman to junior yr) was about a 3.77 unweighted, 4.32 (or something to that effect) weighted. I alaways took honors and AP courses. I was very invloved in a number of clubs (National Honors Society, interned at a doctor's office once, Teen Court lawyer, Peer Health Educator, SADD, Astronomy club.... long list) and did my good share of community service (my school required 72 hours by graduation- by junior yr, I had done 180 in various projects).

I guess my slight downfall, however, was my SAT- I took it twice, and my two highest scores were 660 verbal, 550 math (=( ouch.) In terms of SAT 2s, I got a 620 in Bio, and plan to take a literature one and a chem one soon ( I had taken the lit one before- not so good. )

Now, in college, I'm taking Chem. 1, Calc, 1, Psychology as a natural science, and Introduction to Ethics. I hope to make all a's (Im trying!)

Do you guys think I have a chance at any of the universities above? Any comments/sugestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Dartmouth will be almost impossible with those scores, Chicago possible but odds are low, Gtown odds are slightly better. I would look into either schools that don't require the SAT for transfer (Middlebury, the best state schools (Michigan, UNC), etc.

yeah... I will definately be retaking the SAT within the next couple of moths, and hopefully I'll take an SAT prep class- maybe that will help... I need need need to get those scores up. dammit.

As for the only four courses thing- first of all, my chem course counted for 5 credits, Intro to ethics is three, Intro to psych is four, and calculus is 4 as well. Thats 16 credits- then, 1 credit is taken up by an "introduction to college" type of course (a COMEPLETE waste of my time) and another 1 credit course is my honors colloquium class ( its a shakespearean-theater type course) required if you're in the honors program. So... I have 18 credits, its just that I tend to not count my 1 credit courses.

yeah... do you guys think seeing me take the SAT 3 times would lower my chances? Or should I maybe try the ACT? I'd still have to take SAT 2s...

Why don't you take the act's? Lots of schools accept then in lieu of sat's and sat II's and some people excel more at them then at the SAT's (true for me)

Dartmouth is out of the question unless you raise the scores.

Chicago says that they don't focus on test scores as much but instead the bulk of the decision is based on your essays/reasons, so you definitely have a shot there.

Georgetown is also possible but it's definitely not easy to transfer in.

It would really help if we knew the college you're at right now, as your current school has an effect on your odds at transferring into such great universities.

well, at least that is a ray of hope because of the three I mentioned, G-town is definately my top choice (Actually, its my dream school). Nontheless, I'm aware of the fact that my scores are still pretty risky to send as they are.

Well don't let my comments stop you from applying or thinking you've got a shot. G-town and Chicago are both very possible (but again knowing your current school...or at least it's general area in rank would help us determine your chances better). With a score of 2050+ I think you'd be quite competitive.
