Chances at GW, BU?

Location: Pretty competitive public HS in suburban NJ, usually sends 5-10 to Ivy League schools per year
Ethnicity: Jewish
Sex: Male
Grade: Junior
GPA: 96.5 weighted (4.0)
SAT: 2290 combined (750 CR, 740 Math, 800 Writing with a 9 essay)...took it twice, got a 2040 the first time and a 2210 the second time
SAT II's: Yet to take
PSAT: 1970 soph, 2140 junior...named as National Merit Scholarship semifinalist
APs: 1 this year (English Lang.), 3 next year (Macro, Gov, English Lit.)...I'm very confident that I got a 5 on English Lang.

Volunteer: By the end of next month I'll have roughly 75 hours at a local retirement home.

Summers: Summer after freshman and soph years at overnight camp, upcoming summer at residential program at BU

Other: Will soon be named Editor-in-Chief of school newspaper...one of 9 juniors out of 550 at my school to be in French IV...member of powerhouse Quiz Bowl team (back to back conference championships and undefeated seasons)...umpire for town's youth baseball league

Grades: Overall solid but I got a C in geometry and almost a C in biology. My GPA is good, not great, but I also seem to always get the hardest teacher for each subject. I'm destroying AP English Lang (I have a weighted 105).

Taking these into consideration, what are my chances at BU, GW, American (my safety), Northwestern (a reach) and possibly Brown (a total reach)?

Also: School does not release class rank but I know for sure I’m in the top 15% or so.

You will be accepted by GW and BU. Northwestern is very possible, especially if you really focus on your essays and showing passion in something you really care about. Your ECs appear a bit weak; that is the one concern I have. Brown is a high reach, but I encourage you to still apply.

Actually, come to think of it, Brown is more of a mid-reach for someone with your stats.

How about American’s Honors program (as a safety)?
