ECs: I have been first chair alto saxophone in the jazz band, saxophone ensemble, and wind ensemble. It's rare for a freshman to make jazz band freshman year so that was an accomplishment.
I currently play all saxophones, and taught myself piano, clarinet, and the flute.
I was on varsity soccer (manager) for the past two years.
I run a music event called the Coffeehouse at my school, which is a pretty demanding position
I am a Campus Minister, which means that I am in charge of Community Service at my school. This year, our school has been close to 100% voluntary community service.
I have written music performed in concerts by the Saxophone Ensemble and am currently working on a piece for the Wind Ensemble.
I will be submitting a recording on the alto sax.

Council of Seniors (student government)
Deanery Leader
Retreat Leader
Campus Ministry Award (Most Community Service in the School)
Benedictines of East Africa and Delbarton Students (Service Trip to Nairobi, Kenya)
SHAWCO Volunteer, Cape Town, South Africa
Appalachia Volunteer, Kentucky
Music:
NJPAC Jazz for Teens
William Paterson Jazz Summer Camp
Governor's School Alternate (I didn't get in but i took it as a compliment to come so close)
North Jersey Student Music Association North Jersey Region Band (First Chair)
Delbarton Arts Council Student Representative
Student Leader for Delbarton Music Ensembles
I'm probably forgetting something but to be honest I am vry involved and I think it will show in my application. (I'm not trying to brag, I just really want to know how real my chances are)

I think Harvard is still surely a reach, but it is worth applying to for you (ie your stats good enough that it wouldn't be a wasted effort)
test scores are very mediocre for harvard, esp with that low CR
some interesting EC's (esp some fo the music ones) but nothing spectacular.
write some really really good essays and get some good recs and you've got a chance, but don't get your hopes too high. On a sidenote, I'm sure your considering many top 25 schools, since you definitely have a great chance at many of those

I disagree about the op's ECs being nothing spectacular. They have extensive musical skills and have volunteered in Cape Town in the past! You'd be hard presses to find someone who could top that (yes even haravrd applicants!). I was very impressed with your ECs.

Stats are above average so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Do try and get that CR above 700 when you retake.

You mentioned you were manager of the varsity soccer team. I take it you weren't actually playing then? Just to clarify...

Overall, I'd say you have ok chances of being admitted, but nothing is for sure when it comes to the Harvard app process.

I am also applying to Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Brown, and MAYBE Dartmouth as my other reach schools. If you wanna say my chances at these schools, feel free to do so. agh i really do need to get up that CR score haha the frustrating thing is that one more question right would probably get me in the 700s :-\ o well, I got one last shot

o and yes, i did not play on the field for varsity soccer. i was just the manager. I also played tennis freshman and sophomore tennis (if that changes anything haha)
