DJ Ryan

Hey,

Unfortunately DJ your academic and extracurricular achievements don't seem to stand out that well among Harvard applicants. Consequently, I'd have to say your chances of getting in are slim to none. However, you do seem to excel at bass. I'm a member of the Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra and we are badly in need of bassists. Our conductor may ask the admissions board to let in a few extra bass players, as he did last year. While I can't guarantee that this will help you, it could potentially give you a better chance.

the 3.5 GPA will probably hurt you...but your SAT I scores are good. SAT II scores...well, study for the two new ones you're taking!

I wouldn't say your ECs are bad, don't worry about them. What's more important is your essays. Really stand out from the crowd through that.

When I read bassist my eyes lit up lol. I myself play the viola. It's true that they do need more of us so it can definitely be a plus.

I'd say chances are slim. but i don't think there's no hope!

Do you think that you have a chance at being recruited to play golf? I know that Harvard doesn't "recruit", but if the coach pulls some strings it coud really help you. But, then again, I don't even know if Harvardhas a golf team, or if it is competitive. Based on academics though, you will be lucky to get to committee.
